Startup Jalsa Pitch Sessions 2019

What are Pitch Sessions?

Pitch sessions are a gateway towards Startup Jalsa, Invest Edition. Startups are given a chance to pitch in cities nearby to them all around South Asia.

What will happen at the Pitch Sessions?

1. Talk by a founder.
2. Next, all startups get 1 minute to deliver an Elevator Pitch.
3. Shortlisted startups get to network with fellow startups and founders.

What next after the Pitch Sessions?

Selected startups will be invited Startup Jalsa Invest Edition 2019. Here, at least one startup from Ideation stage will get funding of INR 5 Lacs at 10% equity, one from POC/Beta stage will get funding of INR 25 Lacs at 10% equity and one from Revenue stage will get funding upto INR 1 Crore at mutually agreed equity.

Who can attend?

There are no eligibility criteria. However, we encourage only serious entrepreneurs to attend. Startups should be in the Ideation, POC/Beta or in Revenue Stage.

Where are the Pitch Sessions happening?

In 2019, Pitch Sessions are being organised in 4 countries in South East Asia – India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

When will the deals be closed?

Typically the legal due diligence will happen before Startup Jalsa Invest Edition 2019. However, the deals will be closed on the spot at Startup Jalsa, Invest Edition, December 2019.

What is the process after registration?

After successful registration, the startups can directly come with their pitch-decks/presentation to the venue as mentioned in the confirmation email.

Is a pitch-deck required at the Pitch Session?

Yes, a pitch-deck/presentation is mandatory to pitch at the Pitch Session.

Should a startup be registered to participate in the Pitch Sessions?

We accept both registered and non-registered companies. Though, startups will have to legally register themselves according to the law in their respective countries, along with bank account to accept the funding they receive.

Is there any registration fee involved?

To maintain the seriousness of the event, startups will have to pay a nominal fee of INR 1000 + Taxes to pitch at the Pitch Sessions. There is no fee for the Invest edition – however, the cost of logistics and subsidized stay will have to borne by the Startups themselves.

Invest Edition

What is the Invest Edition?

Startup Jalsa, Invest Edition is a two-day invite-only conference dedicated to networking and the deals with the selected startups from the Pitch Sessions will be closed on the spot.
